A Message from the Principal

We are looking forward to a fantastic year for 2009-2010 with lots of new students and incredible teachers and staff.

We have so many exciting opportunities throughout the year for our students. There will be field trips, assemblies, and wonderful classroom activities that will inspire and teach our students all of the important things they need to know.

Lakeridge received two large grants again this year. One is to provide free all-day kindergarten for our students. The second grant is for Reading First. We will continue to have extra resources and guidance to help all of our students reach the benchmark for their grade level.

The State of Washington has revised many of the grade level goals, especially in the area of mathematics. If you would like more information on what each grade level will be learning, log onto the Washington State OSPI website at: www.k12.wa.us

We hope you plan to visit our school this year. There are many opportunities to be involved at Lakeridge. We have a wonderful Parent Teacher Association (PTA). They provide much-needed funding for field trips and supplies, as well as fun activities for our students and families throughout the year. Please join the PTA. They need your help in order to be successful.

If you are you interested in volunteering in the classroom, on field trips or for other events, please contact Suzanna Alvarez our Parent Involvment Coordinator or the school office. We will be glad to get you started.

We look forward to seeing you at our many daytime and evening activities during the year. As always, feel free to contact me at 425-204-4100 if you have any questions.

Thank you for visiting our web page!

                                                              Ginny Knox, Principal
