Renton Innovation Zone Partnership/RIZP
The RIZP is an organization that works to connect communities and schools to drastically improve the well-being of children and their academic performance in the serve areas of four elementary schools (RSD’s RIZ: Lakeridge, Bryn Mawr, Campbell Hill and Highlands Elementary schools.)
Some of RIZP’s main goals include partnering with Skyway/West Hill communities to gain resources for basic amenities needed to support families and children; support tutoring, academic and enrichment opportunities; improve the quality and increase the number of early learning opportunities; and provide resources that will create significant changes to students experiences homelessness and housing instability so they will be able to learn and thrive. Sound Discipline
Sound Discipline offers comprehensive programs that help educators connect with our youth and address the root causes of challenging behavior. The results are lasting, measurable reduction in discipline problems and improvements in school culture.

Thrive Yoga
Damithia Nieves, owner and sole instructor at Thrive Yoga, is a registered Yoga Teacher, Certified Children’s Yoga teacher, Trauma-Informed Restorative Practices Facilitator and recently certified Positive Parenting Coach and Educator. Her business, Thrive Yoga, provides yoga and mindfulness programming to youth on the Eastside and South Seattle with a focus on increasing accessibility of these healing practices in Black & Brown communities. Within this work she also co-facilitates a youth restorative practice circle at the Skyway Library and is a Youth Mentor with Young Women Empowered.
Children from elementary thru high school can benefit from a yoga and mindfulness practices and offering in a school setting poses unique benefits including improved ability to learn, reduced test anxiety, improved social skills and more. Damithia has partnered with Lakeridge to provide in-person, and currently, weekly digital mindfulness and movement classes. Your student has the Zoom link on their Google Classroom page.
